Why I Will Never Put Rims On A Boat Trailer
After a recent stop in Birmingham, AL, Elite Sereis Pro Ish Monroe was en-route to Falcon Lake for this weekends upcoming event when his wheel flew off as he was driving through San Antonio.
Appearantly a thief in the night tried to steal the rims (20inch chrome I believe) off of Ish’s boat while parked at the hotel in Birmingham. After the wheel had come off, many fellow Elite Pros stopped in an attempt to help the stranded angler on the side of the road. Finally Ish was able to get back on the road after Ranger’s Service Crew member Mike McCloskey came by to cure fix the problem. A wheel was also donated by Britt Meyers who is the owner of CS Motorsports.
Unfortunately rims on trailers is a sad attempt at trying to influence another generation or genre into bass fishing as far as I am concerned but man do they look cool. They are one of the unneeded accessories and expenses in fishing that I can certainly do without. Thankfully for Ish though, he was able to get back on the road and headed toward his destination.

Some boat such is Legend and even some Basscats come with aftermarket style rims and low profile tires….. Or at least they are an added dealer option.

I just don’t see the point, really. But, to each his own, I suppose.
