This Weekends Stren Series Events
After a phenomenal first stop for Stren Series Texas Division on Falcon Lake in it’s inaugural event, the 173 boat field is expecting big numbers in weights to show up at the scales. The expectations are coming after a team tournament last weekend in which 20 sacks were brought in weighing over 20 lbs. and two of them being over 30 lbs, plus favorable forecast weather conditions.
The air temperature at this mornings take off was 50 degrees with highs expected in the mid to high 60’s, cloudy skies, calm winds, and a chance of light rain. Water temps are 55-58 degrees. Sounds like conditions for a pre-spawn slug fest.
Also getting underway today was the Stren Series Western Division on Lake Havasu. The word that is coming out of Havasu is tough. With fishing said to be less that ideal, FLW has quoted many anglers as saying, “really tough, a bit slow”, and so forth. With low water conditions, drop-shots and jigs are expected to be favorite patterns with crankbaits and flipping giving way as well.
Today’s conditions at launch were 51 degrees with highs expected to reach 67, cloudy skies, and 13 mph SW winds.
Tournament Results will be posted here at Getting Reel.
