TBF Goes College Bass Fishing
While it’s no secret that College Bass Fishing is growing much faster than anyone had anticipated, it doesn’t seem to want to slow down for a breather. Announced recently was that The Bass Federation is now providing advice and structure methods to College Bass Clubs. So what does this mean? For the most part it means that College Bass Clubs can know affiliate their clubs with TBF and receive rewarded advances and entries into other TBF and FLW Sanctioned events through the Collegiate Bass Championship such as, The Living The Dream Package, BFL All-American and Forrest Wood Cup Qualification. The new federation will be called the Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) in which Bass Clubs must have a 6 member team to join and individuals pay a $40 membership fee. The ACA will be an independent federation governed by TBF.
Other recent advancements over the past year which have helped increase College Bass Fishing’s popularity and recognize them as a College Sport include: The creation of Ultimate Match Fishing - College Edition, Almost a triple increase in School Participation at the National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship, a recent imposing of a “Ranking Model” under NCAA sanctions, and now the new formation of the Association of Collegiate Anglers with the help of The Bass Federation. I expect that eventually we will see this popularity trickle its way into high schools across America as well.
