Skeeter/Yamaha Are Official For BASS
In the wake of Triton/Mercury backing down their commitment levels with BASS, the door was left wide open for another to become the official Boat/Motor Sponsors for BASS. After much revolving speculation that Skeeter/Yamaha would fill the vacancy, it was announced that they would indeed become the new official Boat/Motor Sponsors for BASS. The sponsorship deal includes The Classic, Elites, Opens, WBT, and the 6 Federation Nation Divisionals along with the Championship. They will also support BASS youth programs such as the Bassmaster Casting Kids Championship and the Jr. Bassmaster World Championship
The new agreement is at a great time for both companies. This year Skeeter celebrates it’s 60 year and BASS will celebrate it’s 40th year. Surely we can expect big things from both in 2008.
For weekend anglers wanting contingency prizes, take notice that Triton/Mercury owners still benefit from participation in the ABA/BASS Bassmaster Weekend Series presented by Toyota Tundra. Triton/Mercury didn’t completely drop their involvement. Their formation of the new Triton Black Gold Program was designed to give better incentive back to the grass roots fisherman, which was Triton goal all along.
*Yamaha (which owns Skeeter) is also a contingency sponsor for the FLW as part of a Ranger deal.
