Skeet Reese talks AOY
Skeet Reese said in an interview with Bassmaster MC’s Mark Zona & Tommy Sanders which aired sunday, “To win the tournament on the Potomac River is really what put the exclamation point on the the AOY season. Reese hadn’t won a tournament since 2003 which was before BASS had formed the Elite Series. Reese finished in the top 12 in 7 of the 11 regular season tournaments and finished in 13th and 14th in two others. Good Season? Oh yeah.
It will be interesting to see how Reeses does in the 2008 season. I wouldn’t imagine that if anyone had asked Michael Iaconelli how many top 12 finishes he’d have in 2007 after winning the AOY title in 2006 that he’d have said 1 along with finishing 28th in the AOY standings, but it happened. I am going to say that Reese with continue to be a shadowing presence on many of the final day weigh-ins, but only time will tell.
