How Did It Go?
None of you knew, but today was my birthday. While I had every intention on waking up before the sun to go at it on the Potomac River, I instead woke up to the smell of biscuits & gravy at around 9am. I guess when my wife heard me make mention of my going fishing on my birthday, she already had plans for breakfast in bed. Instead of letting me know that the night before while I was getting my tackle ready, she decided to just go ahead and turn the alarm clock on me after I fell asleep. Any other time I would have normally been pretty boiled over. I only have a few chances a week to hit the water and I hate a missed opportunity to cast my Quantums and American Eagle Rods, but when the intentions are to surprise me with my favorite biscuits and home made gravy, how can I be mad.
After the fact, I went ahead and let my food settle and getting the hint that she wanted me to spend my birthday with her, I left the boat parked all day long and relaxed while I thought about fishing instead. Don’t worry though. I left the boat hooked up to the truck so I could make sure that I had plenty of time to get to the lake tomorrow after work.

don,
I’m a big hunter and fisherman and my wife has also tried this before and like you said sometimes ya know when it’s time to stay home. My wife is pretty cool about the stuff I like to do without her and as much as you fish yours is probally pretty understanding also. So sometimes you got to take one for the team.

Thanks roc. Correct. Wadell said it best, “If mama ain’t happy, nobody’s happy”.
