FLW “Fish-Off” Site Chosen
I told you recently about the “East vs. West Fsih-Off” that was going to take place. The field has been determined for a while and the anglers have been waiting patiently to hear a site determined. Well wait no longer. Lake Amistad Baby! I’m excited about this and i’m not even fishing it.
An excellent call by FLW. Located on the Texas / Mexico border, Lake Amistad is one of the biggest bass lakes in America. The BASS Elites had a tournament on Amistad earlier this past March. With sacks brought in tipping the 30lb mark and 10lb bass everyday, this should be a big fish bonanza. I will cast my early prediction by picking Steve Kennedy as the winner. After watching him last March nearly win the Elite event, I think he has some spots that are guaranteed to make him a contender. Without a debate, I already know that the winner of that same tournament, Derek Remitz will also be fishing in the event. I’m just a Kennedy Fan alright.
The event is scheduled for Feb 7-9.

Amistad is a good choice for something like “East vs West”. Since its pretty much right in the middle horizontally. Besides that you knew they had to get somewhere down south if possible since the tournament is in February.

Who was it that won the BASS Elites tournament here earlier in the year?

Oh, and do the same guys that fish in the BASS Elite ever fish in the FLW Series? Or, do they have language in their contracts that prevent them from getting in both?

You are a curious fellow. That is good.
Derek Remitz won the event their last year. It was his first ever pro event and he won. How awesome is that.
A pro will usually commit to one series. He will however fish other sanctioned events when scheduling allows.
