Florida’s Game Warden Not A Pennington Fan
Earlier this week, Ex-NY Jets Quarterback, Chad Pennington spent a day down on the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes with BASS Elite Series Pro’s Jeremy Starks and Jason Williamson. In a hidden camera type of scenario, Pennington found himself in a predicament with the State of Florida’s Game warden.
After leaving the boat ramp early in the morning, Starks ran the boat full of member into an area with a hopeful topwater bite. After many unsuccessful casts luring no fish, Starks picked up the motor, fastened the life jackets and ran the trio a little further off to another spot.
Upon arrival, the trio was greeted by a Florida Game Warden who proceeded to conduct a safety compliance check. After doing so he requested to view the anglers fishing licenses. Upon receipt of Pennington’s license, the Game warden noticed that the license given to him by Pennington was a salt water pass. Appearantly, Pennington didn’t know the difference and thought that the Florida license was good for all Florida waters.
Now I have made my fair share of bone head mistakes, but come on Pennington. Let me make note real quick that Pennington also owns a Marina and boat dealership near Knoxville, Tennessee. Like most marinas, I would assume that they sell fishing licenses, therefore I would also assume that Pennington would know whether what he was carrying around in his pocket was a valid license.
Pennington was let off with a warning. Sadly for Pennington, that was the only autograph requested by the Florida Game Warden. Pennington then proceeded to spend the rest of the day fishing along his new Elite Series buddies.
After the half, Florida 7 - Pennington 0

Dude, that’s hilarious. Looking at that picture of Pennington holding up his fishing license, I noticed a striking resemblance to MLB pitcher Jeff Weaver … and, that’s not really a compliment. Great article, Donnie!
