2008 Classic Field Set
With the Federation Nation Championship complete and the Bassmaster Series Championship in the bag, the 2008 Bassmasters Classic field is set. While many are going to pick the always reliable Kevin Van Dam, some will pick Skeet Reese expecting him to continue his hot streak after a few months off of his AOY Title. Others will even say that the all knowing Martens has been so close too many times to not finally win one. Any one of these picks would be a wise choice, but I never like being credited for my pciking the obvious winner. That would be like saying the NE Patriots are going to win the Super Bowl. No Kidding? Instead I am picking a Dark Horse as my #1 pick. While he may be a local and a rookie fishing in his home state on his home lake during his first ever Bassmasters Classic, Casey Ashley is getting my vote…! Not really, I think that’s going to be more pressure than he can deal with right now. My actual pick to win the Classic is KVD. I don’t think that there will be anyone else better prepared than him going into day one. Plus the odds of a cold front present are good and his northern cold water angling knowledge could prove useful.

I raise your Vandam with a Hackney and a C.Lane darkhorse.

You can’t raise a Vandam. He’s a high as it gets. Ace of the deck. Dark horse, give me Todd Faircloth.
