2008 Classic Expo… The Best!
What’s the best part of the Bassmaters Classic? Well that depends on who you ask. I’m sure that if you ask any angler participating in the event, they would probably give you an answer involving the tournament itself combined with an electrifying arena environment unlike what you would find at any other tournament. If you were to ask a pro not fishing the event, than you may get an answer that involves sponsor participation and media focus. Ask a fan and you will more than likely receive an answer involving the weigh-in in conjunction with the Classic Expo. That’s what I’m talking about!
If you are a fan of bass fishing and have never had the opportunity to attend the Bassmaster Classic Fishing Expo, than you are missing out my friend. The Expo is just what you would think it is. It’s an opportunity for manufacturers and vendors of all sizes, the ability to showcase some of their new products as well as their current ones. But what really sets it apart is the involvement from the many Pros, the numerous interactive abilities, activities for both children and adult attendees, along with the environment of the Bassmaster Classic itself.
Many of the Pros who did not qualify to fish the Classic will still be on hand. Not to fish, but to help represent their sponsors and affiliates. No where else like this will you ever be able to get face to face with many of your favorite angling pros and heroes. It’s a chance to learn about the products that they use and to ask some of those hard to answer questions you have been stewing over while having a tough day out on the water.
Many of the manufacturers also include deals, grab bags, and various other promotional offerings to fans who attend the Classic. Many times you will need a spare seat in your vehicle just to stack up all of the items and grab bags that you will receive as give aways.
This years Classic will be held on South Carolina’s Lake Hartwell, February 22-24 . The weigh-ins will take place at the Bi-Lo Arena in downtown Greenville, SC. Just 3 miles down the road from the weigh-in site, you will be able to attend the Expo while the anglers compete in the Classic event. The Expo venue will be held at the Carolina First Center. Admission to both the Classic and the weigh-in is free.
If you have the opportunity, be sure to give yourself a chance to attend the Classic. I guarantee it will be like no other Fishing Expo you have ever seen. The site of the Classic changes every year so those of you who have to deal with travel distances too far to attend, keep your heads up because there is no telling where next years event may be held.
